The proposed £40million redevelopment of Marble Arch House in Central London has been announced by British Land. Potential bidders for the project include Bam Construct, McLaren Construction and Wates.
At the moment the site consists of two mixed use five story buildings, 35-50 Edgeware Road and 62-64 Seymour Street.
The development will comprise of 60,000 sq feet of prime office space and 15 sq feet of retail space as designed by Bennett’s Associates.
Ten luxury residential apartments will be incorporated into the development and will be positioned adjacent to the office complex. The development will also feature a restaurant built at ground level behind the retained Victorian façade of 62-64 Seymour Street.
The design sets to surpass Part L carbon emission requirements by up to 40 per cent and it also includes green-roofing to encourage biodiversity. It is hoped that the development can achieve a BREEAM excellent environmental rating for its design.
