On Sunday 9th October, thousands of runners came together to take part in London’s Royal Park Half Marathon.
Some runners run for the pure fun of it, some to beat their own personal best, some out of the shear competitive nature of the sport and to push themselves to the limit. Some runners use their passion for running and take the opportunity to fundraise for a worthwhile cause.
This year FastTrack have shown their support for Emerge Poverty Free by sponsoring employee, Jo Kareer, (Marketing & PR Assistant) to run the gruelling 13.1mile race.
Jo’s chosen charity organisation Emerge Poverty Free, are dedicated to raising money to support those in need of emergency aid all around the world and helping people free themselves from a life of poverty.
Jo commented;
“This will be the third half-marathon that I’ve fun, and each time I have used it as an opportunity to raise money for charity. I find that being sponsored to run a race helps me to do my bit for charity and motivates me to get over that finish line! I’m lucky to be part of an organisation that supports employees both in their personal and work goals.”
FastTrack believe in giving back to society, through sponsorship and supporting charity organisations. Earlier this year they supported Project 65 – The UK Veterans Charity, who ran five marathons in five days. They are also committed to supporting long term initiatives to help local communities, such as Changing Paths.
Jo completed the Royal Parks Half- Marathon in 2:01.
